Upon arrival in Paris, we are met by our guide and assisted through the airport before boarding our motorcoach for an orientation panoramic tour of the city. As we drive through the streets of this magnificent capital, we take in famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Seine River, and the grand boulevards that have inspired artists and writers for centuries. The remainder of the afternoon is free for us to rest or explore on our own before gathering for an overnight stay at our Paris hotel.

We begin our day exploring Le Marais, one of Paris’s most charming and historic districts. Stepping onto the island, we are transported back in time as we wander through its winding medieval streets lined with charming shops and cafés. We ascend to the Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that has stood for over a thousand years. From its lofty terraces, we take in panoramic views of the surrounding bay, marveling at the ever-changing tides that make this site so unique. We also learn about the island’s fascinating history as a center of pilgrimage and strategic military stronghold. After enjoying some free time to explore and perhaps sample local specialties like Normandy cider or the famous omelette de la Mère Poulard, we begin our return journey. Arriving back at our ship just before dinner and reembarkation, we reflect on a truly remarkable day at one of France’s most iconic treasures.

Today, we immerse ourselves in the medieval history of Rouen, often called the “City of a Hundred Spires.” Our walking tour takes us to the Rouen Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece famously painted by Claude Monet. We admire the intricate details of the Gros-Horloge, a stunning 14th-century astronomical clock. At the Old Market Square, we stand on the very spot where Joan of Arc was martyred in 1431.
