Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a walking tour to Heroes’ Square (“Heldenplatz”) near the Imperial Hofburg Palace, Albertina Square, and the impressive Hardlichka statue. After the walking tour and a short break for an independent lunch, we’ll board our ship. We’ll settle into our cabins and gather for a welcome cocktail and a festive dinner to celebrate the start of our cruise.

In the morning, we’ll dock in the historic city of Esztergom. We’ll take small trains for a city tour and visit the magnificent Esztergom Basilica. We’ll enjoy a view of the Danube before returning to the ship for lunch as we continue our cruise southward. Be sure to head to the sun deck as our ship glides into the heart of Budapest, crossing several stunning bridges and passing by grand architectural landmarks like the Parliament Building along the riverbanks. After docking, we’ll tour key city sites, including the Millennium Monument (Hősök tere) in Heroes’ Square, the Opera House, the Parliament Building, the Shoes on the Danube memorial, and more. The ship will stay docked in Budapest overnight.

After breakfast, we’ll visit the impressive Dohany Street Synagogue, the largest synagogue in Europe, which houses the “Weeping Willow” Holocaust memorial. After the tour, we’ll return to the ship for lunch and sail toward Bratislava.

Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is considered the country’s economic, political, and cultural center. We’ll begin a guided tour with a local train ride to a viewpoint offering sights of the city and the Danube from the Parliament Hill and Bratislava Castle. Next, we’ll continue with a walking tour through the main streets, discovering beautiful sites and attractions while learning about the city’s history and legends. Afterward, we’ll return to the ship and sail overnight to Krems, Austria.

This morning, we’ll tour the charming town of Dürnstein, known as the “apricot and wine capital of the Wachau Valley.” We’ll see the ruins of the 12th century castle and the iconic blue baroque church, one of Austria’s most beautiful. We’ll stroll through shops and sample local specialties like apricot jams, liqueurs, and other regional products. Returning to the ship, we’ll cruise through the scenic UNESCO World Heritage Wachau Valley. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Melk Abbey, a stunning baroque Benedictine monastery overlooking the town. We’ll tour its museum, special library, and beautifully adorned church. We’ll return to the ship in the evening and cruise to Linz.

In the morning, we’ll dock in Linz and tour the elegant city, the capital of Upper Austria and the country’s third-largest city. We’ll explore the old town, visit the main square, and see the Old Cathedral, the Holy Trinity Column, Mozart’s house, and the Northern Austria Parliament Building. After lunch, we’ll travel to St. Florian Monastery, an Augustinian abbey from the 9th century, with its impressive baroque cathedral renowned for its perfect acoustics and use as a concert hall. We’ll hear about the monastery’s history, including its occupation by the Gestapo during World War II and the monks’ expulsion. Later, we’ll take another unique tour outside the city before returning to the ship and sailing to Passau.

Today, we’ll visit the charming German town of Passau, located near the Austrian border. This 2,500-year-old city lies at the confluence of three rivers: the Danube, the Inn, and the Ilz. We’ll stroll through picturesque streets and admire the baroque St. Stephen’s Cathedral, home to the largest church organ in the world. Afterward, we’ll return to the ship and sail down the Danube toward Vienna. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a festive farewell dinner with the ship’s crew.
