Embark upon your journey with an overnight flight to Tel Aviv. Prepare yourself for a life changing experience and get some rest on the flight. Tomorrow you will be walking in the footsteps of Jesus.

Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, we are met by our guide and we transfer to our Hotel in Tel Aviv, located near the beautiful coast of the Mediterranean Sea. If you have time, you might want to stop off in Old Jaffa, the traditional home of Simon the Tanner and the port from which Jonah sailed to Tarshish.

After a delicious breakfast, we depart for the Galilee to visit biblical sites at Caesarea Maritima, where Peter proclaimed the Good News to a Roman Centurion (Acts 10). Next, we visit Megiddo, overlooking the Jezreel Valley (the site of the future Battle of Armageddon) and Mt. Carmel, where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). Then, we continue to Nazareth (Jesus’s childhood home) and Cana (location of Jesus’s wedding miracle, John 2). We arrive in the Galilee in time for dinner and overnight overlooking the Sea of Galilee.

Nothing compares to watching the sunrise over the Sea of Galilee. We begin today reflecting and worshipping at the Mt. of Beatitudes and then head toward Capernaum, Jesus’s base for His early ministry. Then, we visit Tabgha (traditional site of the feeding of the 5000) and the Church of Primacy of St. Peter. Our lunch stop includes the option of ordering the special St. Peter’s Fish (cost not included). After lunch, we visit an ancient boat believed to be from the time of Jesus, found in the Sea of Galilee in 1986. Then, we board a replica wooden “Jesus boat” to set sail ourselves on the Sea of Galilee. Next, we visit Magdala to see another ancient synagogue that dates to the time of Christ. We end our day at the Jordan River for an optional baptism. We return to our hotel in Tiberias for dinner at Magdalena and overnight near the Sea of Galilee.

After breakfast, we start the day with a visit to Mount Arbel for a spectacular view of the Sea of Galilee and the Plain of Gennesaret. Then, we head south to Beit Shean, one of the best-preserved Decapolis Roman cities. This is where King Saul and his son’s bodies hung from the city walls after the Philistines defeated the Israelites (1 Samuel 31:10-12). Then, get ready to ascend the breathtaking holy city, Jerusalem, remembering the Songs of Ascent (Psalm 120-134). We stop at Mount Scopus for a magnificent view of Zion. Next, we stop for lunch at the Tent Restaurant (cost not included) on our way to Shepherd’s Field, where we remember the Christmas story. We finish the day with a visit to Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. That afternoon, we check into the exquisite King David Hotel, where we enjoy dinner and spend our first night in Jerusalem.

Following breakfast, we begin our sightseeing with our visit to the City of David to view the archeological evidence that reveals what life was like during the reigns of Israel’s greatest kings, David and Solomon. We will have a short walk to see the recently excavated Pool of Siloam. After lunch, we will visit the Israel Museum and view the fascinating 1:50 scale model of Jerusalem as it would have appeared in Jesus’ time. Next, we will visit the Memorial to the Holocaust at Yad Vashem, followed by some free time to explore the city on your own. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

After breakfast, we begin the day visiting the Temple Mount, the 35-acre temple area purchased by King David (2 Samuel 24:18-25), and the place where Abraham built an altar to sacrifice his son Isaac (Genesis 22). This area is also the third holiest shrine in Islam, where we will find the El-Aqsa Mosque and the magnificent Dome of the Rock. From there we enter Jerusalem through the Zion Gate and proceed to the Western Wall Tunnel to see the excavations that are taking place there. We enter the Old City through the St. Stephen’s Gate (Lion’s Gate) to the Muslim Quarter, visit the beautiful and acoustic Church of St. Anne, and the Pool of Bethesda. Later we enjoy a magnificent view of the Old City from the Mount of Olives, enjoy the “Palm Sunday Walk,” visit Dominus Flevit Chapel and weep with Jesus, and then stop for prayer and reflection in the Garden of Gethsemane. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

We begin our final day of touring in Jerusalem at St. Peter Gallicantu (Caiaphas’s House), make our way to the Southern Steps of the Temple, and then arrive at the Upper Room. We enter the Old City at Stephen’s Gate (Lion’s Gate) through the Muslim Quarter and walk along the Via Delarosa. We experience Stations of the Cross and visit the Sisters of Zion where we see the pavement where Jesus stood while Pilate put Him on trial. Along the way we see the Ecce Home Arch and the Ancient Cardo. Then, we visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, followed by some free time in the Old City for shopping. We finish touring with a visit to Golgotha (Gordon’s Calvary) and the empty Garden Tomb, with a special communion service. After a day of touring, we return back to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

In the early morning, we will transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for our flight back to the U.S.A. We arrive back in the U.S.A. at the close of an unforgettable tour. We take home a renewed faith, confidence in the Holy Scriptures, wonderful memories with friends, and a fresh understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
