Today, January 9, 2024, we’re here to share a promising update regarding your upcoming travel to the Holy Land in 2024!
As of yesterday, Monday, January 8th, we received a wonderful update for flights to-and-from Tel Aviv, which are set to resume in the coming weeks. The Star Alliance, a global aviation alliance comprised of some of the largest and American and European airlines, announced the resumption of flights through Israel which is a major update for tourism! For more about the Star Alliance and their affiliated members, you can read more at their website, www.staralliance.com. Several airlines from the Lufthansa Group Airlines (Lufthansa, Austrian, and SWISS) will be the first to resume weekly flights to Israel until tourism has flourished once again, at which more flights will be offered. It can be expected that once their flights resume, many American carriers will also follow suit (Delta, American, etc.) as the demand justifies the resources. Additionally, based on our insider reports from Israel, United is aiming to resume flights by February 2nd. With that said, please see the below details published by the Lufthansa Group Airlines below:

Planned resumption of flights to and from Tel Aviv
From January 8, 2024, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group plan to resume their flights to Tel Aviv. In a first phase, Lufthansa Airlines will initially offer four weekly flights from Frankfurt and three weekly flights from Munich.
In addition, Austrian Airlines is planning eight weekly connections and SWISS five weekly flights. In a first step, the Lufthansa Group airlines will thus offer a total of 20 weekly connections to and from Tel Aviv. This corresponds to around 30 percent of the regular flight schedule. Aircraft from the Airbus A320 family will be used.
The flight schedule was published on Monday, December 18. Flights can be booked from this date.
Safety is always a top priority for the airlines in the Lufthansa Group. The Lufthansa Group continues to monitor the security situation in Israel closely and is in close contact with the local and international authorities. Possible flight schedule adjustments must be expected due to changing conditions.
Lufthansa Group Airlines suspended its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv on October 9, 2023.
With flights resuming, our first groups are scheduled to depart early this coming Spring, and we’ll continue to ensure the safety of our passengers as we work our way back to the tourism “normalcy”. We understand that everyone may not be comfortable with immediately traveling to the Holy Land, and this is to be understood, so we’re happy to work with each and every one of our travelers to ensure they truly have the trip of a lifetime. If you wish to delay your travels to a future date, or even perhaps a different destination, we kindly ask that you contact your tour’s Operation Representative for more information and instructions moving forward.
In respect to tourism, we understand that things will take time to return to the norm, but many of the classic biblical sites, national parks, and churches have already re-opened to the general public and tourists alike, apart from a select few locations in the Northern Galilee region (i.e., the Tel Dan national park, Caesarea Philippi, and some parts of the Golan Heights). As noted on all our brochures, we always do our best to stick to the written itinerary but for the sake of our travelers, sometimes there may be changes to ensure your safety as you travel abroad. Your safety is our top priority!
As more airlines begin to follow suit, and we receive additional updates from our partners overseas, we’ll continue to update you regularly regarding your upcoming travels. Once again, we cannot thank you enough for entrusting imagine as your preferred operator, and we look forward to serving your travel needs this New Year, and for many years to come!
